This was the first original. Palette knife. Tubes of paint. No plan beyond instinct. Color pushed directly onto the surface — thick, raw, uncorrected. The roses arrived fast and hot, built from pressure and momentum rather than control. There was no safety net, no reversal. Just the decision to begin. What holds the piece together is not refinement, but commitment. This work marks the shift — from composition to presence, from knowing to doing. The moment before confidence, when risk is still visible.
